The first semester at the University of Malta commences in October, while the second semester commences in February.
Exchange/Transfer students coming for two semesters should note that placements are to take place during the same academic year (i.e. October-June). Placements are not to span over two separate academic years.
The deadline for applications for visiting students is as follows:
- Students applying for the First Semester or Full Academic Year (Commencing in October): 15 May
- Students applying for the Second Semester (Commencing in February): 30 October

The application form should be accompanied by:
- A copy of your birth certificate.
- Two passport-sized photos.
- Copy of your passport (mainly pages with personal and passport details- showing date and place of Issue).
- Official University Transcript.
- Your school-leaving and other certificates. If your certificates/documents are not in English, certified English translations should be provided.
- English Language Proficiency certificate.
- Medical Health Form
- Non-refundable application fee as applicable (exchange students do not pay an application fee). Click here for Information on the application fee.
- Exchange/Transfer students: official letter from the student’s home University (with official stamp) which recommends him/her to study at the University of Malta for a period of one/two semesters as applicable.
