The Curies in their lab

Marie Curie Exhibition

The year 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of Marie Curie (née Sklodowska, 1867–1934) receiving the Nobel Prize in chemistry for discovering radium and polonium, the latter named after her native Poland.

As part of the series of events organised by the Department of Chemistry of the University of Malta to celebrate the International Year of Chemistry, an exhibition about the life of Marie Curie was hosted by the Department between the 4th and 8th April.

The Department of Chemistry wishes to thank the French Embassy in Malta who kindly sponsored the exhibition.
