Training
IT Services offers training at no cost to academic staff who want to use the University Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to complement and enhance their study-units. Moodle is the VLE supported by the University of Malta.
The current training consists of a single hands-on workshop (3hrs) covering these topics:
- Introduction to virtual learning & Moodle;
- Adjusting the profile settings;
- Adjusting the study-unit settings;
- Uploading files (course notes, presentations, sample past papers etc);
- Creating links to useful resources &
- Using the news forum.
The workshop is intended for beginner Moodle users. The main aim is to equip participants with basic skills of the various features offered by Moodle. The only essential prerequisite is familiarity with MS Windows and using a browser.
This user guide [PDF] (UoM Staff Access Only) is used during the workshop.
The tutor for the course will be Mr James Cilia.

You can ask to be placed on the waiting list if the above workshops are fully booked, or are at a time which is inconvenient for you. You will be notified by email when the next workshop is scheduled.
