DESCRIPTION Masters candidates must present a Dissertation of approximately 25 000 words, exclusive of bibliography, on an approved topic. Each student will work under the supervision of one faculty member who will provide guidance in the research.

Learning Outcomes:

The dissertation requires the student to apply and extend the knowledge and skills acquired during the Course. With this in mind, students will learn how:

• To research a topic from original sources and develop a thesis based on them;
• To evaluate original sources;
• To be more critical and creative thinkers;
• To acquire a deeper understanding of a particular topic in the field of diplomacy.

The dissertation shall be either a record of original work based on primary sources; or a critical reassessment of existing data with regard to the subject chosen.

* For participants who chose the Internet Governance route, the dissertation must be on an Internet Governance related topic.

 
ADDITIONAL NOTES Pre-requisite: Successful completion of the 60 ECTS credits leading to the PGD in Contemporary Diplomacy.
