Abstract: In allowing the grace of the Triune God to act within it, the Christian family becomes a reflection of the identity and mission of the Church as a whole. In this study, the Christian family is presented as a reality belonging to Christ and to his Church and not only to the members forming it. Husband, wife and offspring own and enjoy the reality of a family at its best when lived in Christ and for the sake of his ongoing mission in the world. Pope John Paul II's magisterium opens a vast and beautiful panorama on Christian marriage and family as the Church in miniature. This study is based mainly on this source. In its three chapters, this study presents a framework for the initial, as well as the on-going formation for couples and families in their quest to come to own and enjoy living as a Christian household.
