It is the earliest recorded use of the stamp in existence, just thirteen days after the stamp was issued and the only Half Penny Yellow known cancelled with the "M" handstamp to be directly associated with a date of use. The winning bid was of £15000 sterling, which, with additional auction fees etc. could easily have reached a final price nearer the £20000 mark!
