Abstract

These are the minutes of a meeting that took place on the 21st of April 1885 among the British Council of Government for Malta, the district councils and the Executive Commissioner of Malta and Gozo, regarding the Colonial and Indian Exhibition taking place in London the following year, 1886. The task of this committee that the Governor appointed, was precisely that of organizing the section of these Islands to appear in the said Exhibition. This committee had so far held many sessions for the purpose of discussing and studying the means to ensure that the exhibition of local articles corresponds to the purpose for which the exhibition stands. The aim of this committee meeting was to seek the cooperation of some of the smartest people and most versed in the objects of Malta in order to be able all together to achieve this common aim more easily.
