| Abstract: | This study addresses one of the problems that the Maltese population currently faces. Time after time, we have ignored our dietary habits and have become one of the most obese countries in the European Union. The reports and documents issued by the Government of Malta and the Ministry of Health will be looked into to determine what the ideal Maltese individual should consume. This study will analyse the dietary habits of the Maltese population and try to establish the root of the problem. This study will also conduct qualitative interviews with food importers to give insight into the industry and understand what the process entails. The food importers will be questioned on whether the dietary habits of the Maltese have changed in the last years, even during the pandemic. They will also be asked whether they have a strategy to lead the population to a healthier lifestyle. The results obtained will then be analysed to solve this problem. |
