Abstract: Mr. Leone Levi in a Review arici Estimate made by him in 1873, of the amount of taxation falling upon the working classes of the United Kingdom, starts with the following axiom "That every subject of the Kingdom should in relation to his means contribute his " quota to the general taxation, is a principle of . "finance universally admitted -as Members " of the Commonwealth, we are all, though "certainly in different degrees, interested in " securing its preservation and advancement. [Excerpt]
