Abstract: This dissertation is essentially divided into five chapters; providing an overview of harassment, bullying, or violence within the sphere of the corporate or work environment. This dissertation solely focuses on Maltese Legislation and legislation enshrined within the United Kingdom. European Law and directives have been included also in order to provide background within the Maltese legislature despite this dissertation delving into Maltese and UK law. The first chapter portrays the aim and research questions the dissertation is based on. The second chapter delves into the ambiguity of such phenomenon and how such notion is interpreted in different ways but essentially contains a number of commonalities. The third chapter establishes a study on Maltese Legislation on such a phenomenon and provides a number of case law to highlight such a prevalent issue. This chapter explains how the Employment and Industrial Relations Act impacts and combats a number of instances which may spark harassment or also unfair dismissal. The fourth chapter illustrates the United Kingdom’s stance on workplace harassment and delves into such legislation that combats such behaviour. The final chapter, concludes the dissertation by resurfacing the questions posited within the introduction and emphasises on the key findings of such study. The final chapter merely collects all considerations from all chapters.
