Abstract: The Institute for European Studies along with the Embassy of France to Malta organised a public talk by the French Secretary of State for European Affairs, the Hon. Laurence Boone, on 25 May 2023 at the Valletta Campus. Titled 'Issues and challenges of European sovereignty', Minister Boone spoke about the challenges facing Europe and how the EU was at a turning point in its history as it seeks to protect its vital interests and project its values beyond the Union. The event was opened by Prof. Carmen Sammut, Pro-Rector and Chairperson of the Institute for European Studies and moderated by Prof. Mark Harwood, Director.
Description: Event held at Aula Prima, University of Malta Valletta Campus on 25 May 2023.
The event was organised in collaboration with the Department of International Relations, the Mediterranean Institute as well as the student organisations, ESO, JEF and KNZ.
