Abstract: Maltese cultural NGOs such as band clubs and fireworks factory are the backbone of the Maltese traditional local feasts. The aim of this thesis is to fully understand the risks that are present in running a cultural NGO in Malta. With the help of previous study This thesis explores the various risks encountered by cultural Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Malta. Maltese cultural NGOs play a pivotal role in safeguarding the nation’s rich cultural heritage, now even more than ever considering that Maltese feasts are an intangible heritage of UNSECO. They operate in an environment filled with challenges that threaten their long-term existence. With the help of previous studies conducted on Maltese feasts this thesis will be able to shin a light on what risks are truly detrimental towards the NGOs while also comparing other studies from different countries. Through qualitative research methods, this study identifies key risks, including limited funding opportunities, volunteer burnout, regulatory compliance, and the impact of political and social changes. It is also the aim of this thesis to find any sort of strategies employed by the NGOs in term of risk management and whether these are sufficient for there own protection. Ultimately the aim of this thesis is to raise concern on the fact that these NGOs are facing risks that are detrimental even in the private sector. The only difference is that the private sector is fully regulated and monitored whereas for NGOs little guidelines are there to help them manage the operational capacity of their organisation.
