| Abstract: | Although for a great part of his life the Order's uditore and vice-chancellor Giovanni Francesco Abela - after a period of studies in Bologna and longer sojourns in Spain, France and Rome - lived in remote Malta, 'l 'ultimo angulo ... Europae', 1 that does not mean that he was intellectually isolated. This paper aims to have a look at his international contacts and their effects on the works and thought of other European scholars. |
