Abstract: This research revolves around the concept of obsession in collectors and this study aims to investigate whether collections can lead to obsessions. The project was carried out by the setting up of meetings with the collectors, spending some time with them while listening to their stories and photographing them in their surroundings. Interviews were done as a research method since it was the ideal approach to investigate collector’s situations. A photographer was also interviewed to record his views on documentary photography in general and on the subject matter. The results from the research and interviews came to the conclusion that collectors can have that particular obsessive trait. For the design process a re-creation of a collection was built in order to imitate collectors and their own space.
