Abstract: A poster presentation regarding veterinary medicines: knowledge and perception of Maltese pharmacists and pharmacy students. Introduction: Pharmacists practising in a community setting are presented with prescriptions from veterinarians during their career. The pharmacists key role during drug-distribution and drug–use is preventing medication errors resulting from inappropriate prescribing. The pharmacists represent the final point at which prescribing errors and problems can be identified and prevented without threatening the quality care of the patient. Aims: To determine the level of knowledge attitude and to identify sources of reference used by pharmacists and pharmacy students in Malta towards medicines used in veterinary practice.
