Abstract: Godwin Cutajar was born in Victoria, Gozo in 1965. In 1988 he left for Rome where he studied artefact conservation at the Istituto Italiano Arte, Artigianato e Restauro (1988- 1990) and successively at the Istituto Centrale del Restauro (1990-1993). During his training, he made conservation work on Art masterpieces such as the 14th century frescoes by Giotto at the Scrovegni Chapel, Padua, the 15th century frescoes by Masolino and Masaccio at San Clemente, Rome, the Arch of Constantine and the Pantheon. He also practised drawing from nude at the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca della Stato (1990-1992). From the end of 1993 he lives in Fontana Gozo.
