Lisa obtained her PhD from the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, Alliance Manchester Business School at the University of Manchester, UK. Her research focuses on aspects related to environmental and sustainability innovation; foresight and stakeholder participation and has been published in the Journal of Cleaner Production, European Journal of Innovation Management, Marine Policy, Sustainability and in edited books by Elsevier, Edward Elgar, SpringerNature and Palgrave McMillan. She has experience in mapping research and innovation policies and trends in the national landscape in Malta and in the use of foresight and forward-looking tools. She is the University of Malta's ambassador on the SEA-EU Sustainable Blue Economy Observatory.
