Posters (1976)

Before 1996, parties and candidates were permitted to paste their posters on the walls of buildings and they did so with enthusiasm. Here are two typical displays that could be seen in 1976. Of course, these placards could well have been affixed long before that year's election campaign, as these posters were rarely removed and seemed able to withstand the sun and rain for several seasons.

Pictured on these posters are Dom Mintoff ("the architect of the Maltese Republic") and a recently visiting dignitary, Col. Qadaffi of Libya.
