| DESCRIPTION | This component aims to develop the student’s skills at locating, reviewing, assimilating, and appraising the scholarly literature. The emphasis will be on: framing a specific field and staying focused on it; being up-to-date with the cutting-edge sociological literature, including the journals; achieving a critical reading of the literature; and writing a sustained synthesis of the various arguments at issue. |
