DESCRIPTION With a desire to foster the professional development of university law students through a variety of events and initiatives designed to enhance their legal education and practical skills, ELSA Malta organises numerous activities that provide valuable opportunities for aspiring legal professionals to engage with the legal community and gain real-world experience.

These academic events involve collaboration with experienced legal professionals who provide mentorship and feedback, helping students refine their techniques and build confidence.
ELSA Malta also hosts a range of workshops and seminars covering various areas of law. These events feature guest speakers, including prominent lawyers, judges, and academics, who share their expertise and insights. Such interactions enable students to stay updated on current legal trends and deepen their understanding of complex legal issues.

By choosing this study-unit, students will be offered platforms that facilitate hands-on experience in legal settings, both locally and even internationally. These programs are instrumental in helping students build a network of professional contacts and gain a global perspective on the practice of law.

Study-unit Aims:

- Learning how to engage with professionals in the legal sector.
- A hands-on opportunity for discussing legal issues in a group setting.
- Fostering a law student’s understanding of the law, local governance, and other legal skills needed in one’s legal career.
- Networking opportunity with Judges, Magistrates, Laywers, and other notable entities.
- Gaining further insight on the intricacies of being both a lawyer and a notary.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Have a better understanding on how to tackle litigation and the art of interpreting, analysing, and studying the law.
- Network with legal professionals and build a relationship with future colleagues and employers.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Partake in legal discussion with ease, heightening one’s argumentative skills much needed in a legal setting.
- Discuss, in depth, emerging legal trends and apply them to both their studies and professional endeavours.
- Properly discern between the career of a lawyer and a notary.
