• The process of strategic management

Study-unit Aims:

This study-unit presents students with a sound foundation and comprehensive understanding of the principles of strategic management. It helps students understand why management efforts to craft a company's strategy generally entails a quest for competitive advantage.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- View business related situations from a strategic point of view;
- Understand the dynamics of competition;
- Understand the need to assess the generic environment in relation to organisational challenges and potential business opportunities.

2. Skills:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Be able to use various theoretical models help one understand particular situations in business contexts, adding value in application in a broad range of disciplines and circumstances in the real world.
