DESCRIPTION This study-unit will assist students in developing knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology that is required in order to understand complex medical and surgical nursing conditions. This study-unit follows NUR0224, in which a set of systems were studied. In this study unit the set of remaining systems are studies in the same approach adopted in NUR0224.

The study-unit will focus on the following topics:
- Lymphatic system and immunity;
- Bones and muscles;
- The endocrine system;
- Central and peripheral nervous system;
- The urinary system;
- Male and Female reproductive system; and
- Special senses.

Study-Unit Aims:

The study-unit aims to develop students' knowledge on human anatomy and physiology of the systems which were not studied in the related study unit NUR 0224. This is essential in order to understand medical and surgical nursing problems and their related care.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- Understand the main structures of the body; and
- Understand the functions of body systems.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to develop critical thinking skills in order to understand medical/surgical conditions to be able to deliver professional care.
