English is the language of instruction at the University of Malta and students are expected to be fluent in this language. If English is not the mother tongue, an English Language Proficiency Certificate is to be presented.  The University of Malta accepts internationally recognized qualifications such as TOEFL, IELTS, and Cambridge certificates.  It is highly desirable that you obtain this certificate in your home country, prior to your arrival in Malta.  This ensures speedy processing of applications.
