DESCRIPTION Youth Ministry Placement consists of a total of 200 hours and will run almost the length of the second semester and the summer period. Before starting the practical placements students will be required to meet with the person representing the youth agency/parish unity, and the course coordinator in order to draft and sign Learning Agreement, delineating what is expected of the Ministry Placement experience. Students will be assigned to supervisors who will visit and assess students at least on five different occasions.

Study-unit Aims:

By the end of the Ministry Placement students should be able

- to cope effectively with increased responsibility
- to demonstrate the capability of planning, preparing and leading
- to gain a clear understanding of the appropriate tasks, activities and relationships of the youth minister
- to make good use of supervision

Learning Outcomes:

Skills (including transferable [generic] skills):
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

i. plan a pastoral plan
ii. integrate and make best use of resources
iii. involve, animate and inspire youth leaders under one's responsibility
