DESCRIPTION This course is a study of collaborative writing and presenting with an emphasis on best practices for team formation, management, and collaboration on planning, composing, and editing documents and presentation materials. Additionally, students will work through team challenges and group conflict scenarios, individual and group reflection, and peer evaluation.

Study-unit Aims:

This course is designed to help students learn how to successfully communicate and collaborate on various team writing and presentation projects. Students will collaboratively write in a number of contexts focusing on planning, composing, and editing documents as a group. Students will also learn to collaboratively develop and present as a team. An emphasis on defining team roles, using collaborative technologies, communicating through conflict scenarios, evaluating peers, and reflecting will be emphasized.

Learning Outcomes:
Upon course completion, students will be able to:

1. Organize and develop a variety of documents and presentations in teams;
2. Use collaborative tools and technologies to organize and communicate ideas in writing and in presentations;
3. Solve communication and conflict challenges involving a group;
4. Assess team strengths and weaknesses to grow and improve;
5. Reflect on individual and team performance to grow and improve.

Required Course Materials

The course does not require a textbook. Module readings and lessons are linked from the Hunt Library and other online sources directly within the course.

Requirements for completing the course include a Google account, as multiple assignments will utilize various Google apps and features. Additional requirements include the ability to record video and audio for presentations as well as a recommended Canva account. Finally, you will be required to complete synchronous team meetings including a Virtual Communication Lab appointment.
