| DESCRIPTION | This study-unit will investigate various teaching strategies which help to make the teaching of Social Studies more effective. Participants will be able to understand the implications of producing and using educational material and integrating it within the Social studies syllabus. Such teaching strartegies as questioning techniques, brainstorming, group work, a project approach, role play and simulation activities will be explored. Particular emphasis will beplaced on the use of ICT applications. Word Processing, Desktop Publishing, Presentation software, the Internet, Spreadsheets will all be explored to show how these can help develop teaching resources. Reading List - Martorella, P.H.
