DESCRIPTION Every student has to write a dissertation of 12,000 words on a topic relevant to the area of study.

Study-unit Aims

The dissertation is intended to allow students to extend and strengthen their understanding of a particular topic related to Banking and Finance.

Learning Outcomes

1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- acquire a detailed understanding of a particular idea of relevance to their degree
- obtain an in-depth knowledge of the relevant literature on the subject of the dissertation
- conduct research
- obtain an understanding of research work, including research ethics

2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- critically appraise various methods of analysing
- work as a member of a community of learners and independently
- continue own competence development and specialization
- formulate and analyse complex scholarly issues independently, systematically and critically
