DESCRIPTION This study-unit provides students an opportunity to review major aspects of study of the Bachelor programme in a holistic manner. It sets focused theoretical and practical challenges to students’ knowledge through the use of case studies.

Study-Unit Aims:

The aim of this study-unit is to review major aspects of the bachelor programme in a holistic manner through focused case studies.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to integrate, synthesize and critically analyse knowledge from different study units in order to tackle case studies relating to different topics relevant to occupational health and safety during a final assessment.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate mastery of holistic risk assessments in complex work situations;
- Take responsibility for the development and implementation of health and safety control measures and interventions which demonstrate a critical understanding of the overall work system;
- Acknowledge and explore the impact of health and safety issues and interventions on the wider organisational environment and beyond;
- Function effectively as a member of a team whilst tackling synoptic group work.

Specific reading will be provided concentrating on discrete themes that will test students’ ability to be eclectic, comprehensive, and multi-dimensional in their approach.
