The recurrent themes of the study-unit include: collective action for social justice; enhancing empowerment and participation within the community; critical consciousness; networking within and between communities; community activism; critical engagement with community; bridging the theory-practice divide; anti-discriminatory practices within the community; hegemony and community practices; and building international alliances.

Outcomes
