| DESCRIPTION | English Version This study-unit is intended for prospective teachers who have an elementary level in Maltese (CEFR level A2) or who have just passed the previous study-unit, EPE2015, to acquire the ability to communicate properly with Maltese speakers, both in their study context and in their prospective work. In this study-unit, students will continue to develop their reading, speaking, comprehension, and writing skills in Maltese according to the CEFR level of 'Independent User'. The participants will be trained to use appropriate and specific words in many important areas of life, especially in the field of education, produce simple and more elaborate sentences and use the most common phrases and techniques in Maltese, such as how to write formal and informal letters, emails, reports and announcements, and to communicate well in Maltese, to address various audiences, including Maltese adults and children. Study-Unit Aims: The objectives of this study-unit are that students: - communicate clearly and are well understood by using the necessary pronunciation and intonation concerning familiar topics; - read and understand writings of different genres, subjects and registers and explain the functions of writings including poems, stories, songs, and recipes; - write reports, advertisements, newspaper notices, leaflets, and formal and informal letters and emails; - express their opinion and views on an excerpt and recognize the main points of a text. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - show their knowledge of different tones and gestures used in everyday life and in narrating stories such as ironic and sarcastic tones; as well as using the right tone when narrating an event; - listen and understand texts on topics which interest them, and show that they are understanding these texts through gestures and oral and written communication; - show that they are familiar with a number of Maltese grammatical structures including: verbs, nouns, adjectives, prepositions and adverbs; - show appreciation of diverse cultures as well as knowledge of the Maltese culture. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - communicate on familiar topics by using a wide range of vocabulary concerning topics that are interesting to them; - use suitable pronouns, appropriate gender and number of nouns, verbs and adjectives in sentences; - describe some events that took place in their life or that they read, including a book's main characters by using correctly the Imperfective, the Perfective, the Negative, the positive and negative Imperative; - explain experiences, ideas. directions, instructions, and wishes, and justifying them in their writing and speech; - use appropriate pronouns, and positive, comparative and superlative adjectives; - write formal and informal letters and emails; - write messages, announcements, and reports to address both adults and children; - use the passive and active participles; - use appropriate adverbs in their communication. Verżjoni bil-Malti Din l-unità ta' studju hi mmirata għal min għandu ħila bażika fil-Malti (livell A1/A2 tas-CEFR) jew għadu kemm għadda mill-unità ta' studju preċedenti, EPE2015, sabiex jikseb il-ħila biex jikkomunika kif xieraq bil-Malti kemm fil-kuntest ta' studju kif ukoll fix-xogħol prospettiv tiegħu. F'din l-unità ta' studju, l-istudenti jkomplu jiżviluppaw l-qari, it-taħdit, il-fehem, u l-kitba bil-Malti sal-livell ta' 'Independent User' tas-CEFR. Jiġu mħarrġa sabiex jużaw kliem xieraq u speċifiku f'bosta oqsma importanti fil-ħajja, b'mod speċjali fil-qasam tal-edukazzjoni, sentenzi sempliċi u aktar elaborati u l-frażijiet l-aktar komuni bil-Malti, kif ukoll astratti u tekniċi, bħal pereżempju kif jiktbu ittre u ittri formali u informali, rapporti u avviżi, kif ukoll jikkomunikaw sew bil-Malti, sabiex jindirizzaw diversi udjenzi, fosthom adulti u tfal. Għanijiet tal-Kors: L-għanijiet ta' din l-unità ta' studju huma li l-istudenti: - Jinghataw l-opportunita' biex jitħaddtu b'mod ċar u li jintgħaraf; - Jigu mghallma jiktbu, jaqraw u jifhmu siltiet ta’ ġeneri differenti; - Jinghataw l-opportunita' fejn jesprimu l-opinjoni tagħhom dwar test li jaqraw. Tagħlim: Fi tmiem il-kors l-istudenti se jkunu kapaċi: - Juru għarfien ta' tonijiet, vuċijiet u ġesti differenti mħaddma fil-ħajja ta' kuljum u fl-irrakkontar ta' stejjer bħat-ton ironiku u sarkastiku; kif ukoll għarfien tal-istruttura tas-sentenzi waqt l-irrakkontar ta' ġrajja; - Jisimgħu u jifhmu siltiet dwar suġġetti li huma ta' interess għalihom, u juru li fehmu dawn is-siltiet bil-ġesti, bil-fomm u bil-kitba; - Juru li huma midħla ta' għadd ta' strutturi grammatikali tal-Malti fosthom: il-verbi, in-nomi, l-aġġettivi, il-prepożizzjonijiet u l-avverbji; - Juru apprezzament ta' kulturi diversi kif ukoll għarfien tal-kultura Maltija. 2. Ħiliet: Fi tmiem il-kors l-istudenti se jkunu kapaċi: - Jikkomunikaw dwar suġġetti li huma midħla tagħhom billi jużaw firxa meħtieġa ta' lessiku dwar temi familjari u ta' interess għalihom; - Jużaw b'mod xieraq u f'loku l-pronomi magħżulin u mehmużin, iqabblu il-ġens u l-għadd man-nomi, il-verbi u l-aġġettivi b'mod korrett fis-sentenzi; - Jiddeskrivu xi ġrajjiet li seħħew f'ħajjithom jew li qraw kif ukoll il-karattri ewlenin ta' ktieb billi jużaw sewwa l-Imperfett, il-Perfett, in-Negattiv, l-Imperattiv pożittiv u negattiv; - Jispjegaw esperjenzi, ideat. direzzjonijiet, struzzjonijiet, u xewqat, kif ukoll jiġġustifikawhom f'kitbiethom u fit-taħdit tagħhom; - Jużaw il-pronomi magħżulin u mehmużin; u l-aġġettivi pożittivi, komparattivi u superlattivi; - Jiktbu ittra u ittre formali u informali; - Jiktbu messaġġi, avviżi, rapporti sabiex jindirizzaw kemm lill-adulti kif ukoll lit-tfal; - Jużaw il-partiċipji passivi u attivi; - Jużaw l-avverbji kif xieraq fil-komunikazzjoni tagħhom.
