DEPARTMENT Fundamental and Dogmatic Theology, including Ecumenism

DESCRIPTION This study-unit delves into the theology of Holy Orders — the sacrament which imparts a special character to those who are called to serve God’s People through a ministry of service. Self-oblation is pivotal in Holy Orders because those called to consecrate themselves through these sacred rites offer themselves whole-heartedly to God and his People.

The study-unit also takes up the contemporary state of Consecrated Life, with its challenges, positive and negative changes brought about by a genuine attempt at renewal. This part of the study-unit attempts to understand and evaluate the wisdom of lived experience as handed down in the Tradition of the Church.
