DESCRIPTION The study-unit is a synoptic: it gives students a holistic understanding of French and Francophone literature, acquired in the 3 years of studies.

Study-Unit Aims:

The aim of this synoptic study-unit is to evaluate the students’ knowledge of French literature (literature in French).

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Draw a link between literary works that may pertain to different genres and belonging to different historical periods;
- Critically discuss issues which have preoccupied the human mind since the birth of civilization and realized that literature is a unifying force in mankind.

2. Skills:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- Embark upon more complex academic tasks in the filed of literary studies like writing a thesis.
