DESCRIPTION | This study-unit provides the students with the necessary knowledge and tools about transport planning and policy-making with examples from local and other countries. Students will consider the approaches used in transport planning, data necessary for decision support and various policies which affect transport systems. Study-unit Aims: - to provide the students with the methods to apply in transportation planning; - to provide the students with knowledge about current local and international transport policy; - to introduce planning measures available and applied in land transport. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - describe the processes of policy making and planning; - report best practices in transport policy and planning; - assess the various aspects of land transport planning, namely private mobility, public transport, vulnerable users and freight. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - collect necessary data for transport planning and policy formulation; - participate in policy making related to transport.
