DESCRIPTION Anyone who is interested in working with or seeking employment in German, Austrian or Swiss companies, should know the profiles and mechanisms of the job market in German speaking countries. This also involves the knowledge of special codes of language and specific structures of texts.

This study-unit will examine and analyse in detail German job adverts, references, covering letters, CV's and the oral forms of applications and interviews. Furthermore the study unit aims at improving students' self confidence in job interviews by simulated settings which might be filmed and analyzed.

Study-unit Aims

The study-unit aims at improving students' knowledge in effective and successful applications a job at the German-Maltese market. Furthermore the study unit aims at enhancing students' self confidence.

Learning Outcomes

1. Knowledge & Understanding:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- demonstrate knowledge on how to apply more successfully for a job at the German-Maltese market;
- comprehend the special codes of language and specific structures of texts of job advertisements and applications;
- comprehend the special requirements and strategies of human resources managers.

2. Skills:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- find and select job advertisements fitting to the qualifications, skills and aims of the applicant;
- show more self confidence in written applications and interviews.
