DESCRIPTION Grammatik 1 (Semester 1)

This study-unit will focus on two main aspects of German grammar – the verb (conjugation, transitive and intransitive verbs) and prepositions. Students will have the opportunity to deepen and consolidate their knowledge of these key aspects of German grammar and to practise them by making use of various types of exercises.

Grammatik 2 (Semester 2)

This study-unit will treat two further aspects of German grammar. Emphasis will be put on the passive, adjective endings, the degrees of adjectives, negation and relative clauses. These areas of German grammar will be introduced and practised by using various types of exercises.

Grammatik 1 (Semester 1)

In diesem Kurs werden zwei Hauptaspekte der deutschen Grammatik - das Verb (Konjugation, transitive und intransitive Verben) und die Präpositionen eingehend behandelt. Die Studenten bekommen die Gelegenheit, diese Schwerpunkte der deutschen Grammatik zu festigen und zu vertiefen und sie mit Hilfe von Aufgaben zu üben.

Grammatik 2 (Semester 2)

In diesem Kurs werden weitere Aspekte der deutschen Grammatik behandelt. Im Fokus stehen das Passiv, die Flexion des Adjektivs, Komparativ und Superlativ, Negation sowie Relativsätze. Diese Bereiche der deutschen Grammatik werden anhand von verschiedenen Übungen eingeführt und vertieft.

Study-unit Aims:

This study-unit seeks to:

- deepen and revise structures of German grammar;
- further the students' ability to express themselves in more complex structures;
- create awareness and enhance the understanding of more complex sentence structures.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- comprehend more complex structures of written and spoken German texts;
- understand the use of more complex grammatical structures such as the passive and the adjective endings;
- know when to use certain grammatical structures.

2. Skills:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- express his/herself in a more complex and acurate German;
- identify and adapt more complex structures of German to every day life situations;
- use the passive, adjective endings, the degrees of adjectives, negation and relative clauses correctly.
