DESCRIPTION The group will be visiting Sicily between the 12th and 14th June 2015.

The three main locations to be visited will offer the opportunity to work in habitats that are not found in Malta, with the possibility of using different techniques, equipment and approach relevant to nature photography.

The locations are as follows:

Day 1: Bosco di Malabotta (Province of Messina)

Large woodland primarily of Oak and other woodland Trees. This type of environment will challenge the photographer with low light situations. The woodland flora and fauna is naturally different from those found in the Maltese Archipelago.

Day 2: Valle del Anapo (Province of Syracuse)

This is a massive system of valleys with the difference to those found locally of having pools and streams on a permanent basis, offering the opportunity to photograph aquatic flora and fauna. The valley is also famous for the circa 5,000 tombs found carved into the sides of the valley walls.

Day 3: Mt. Etna (Province of Catania)

The high altitude and geology of Mt.Etna will give the group the opportunity to look for and photograph various species of alpine flora, unique to the area because of the micro climate.

Lodging will be in an Agriturismo called 'Torre Del Gheppio' L/O Fiumefreddo at the base of Mt.Etna. The group will be lodged on a full board basis, with breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal. Transport will be provided throughout the visit by means of a mini van and English speaking driver.

The opportunity to work in these various habitats and conditions that differ from the local ones will help the participants adapt to different scenarios and the opportunity to experience new forms of flora and fauna, expanding their understanding of the natural world.
