DESCRIPTION The contents of this study-unit include exercises for the development of music making skills including tone, articulation, vibrato, technical facility, music reading (rhythm), and musicality. Study materials may include scales in thirds, and sixths, and arpeggios in all the major and minor keys. At the same time special attention has to be paid to gain the performing experience, and developing interpretation skills.

Study-unit Aims:

The aim of this study-unit is to bring to the higher level all practical skills gained during the previous semesters. Students should be able to memorize longer and more difficult music pieces. It will increase the time frame for the final performance.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

- play more complicated scales with arpeggios and double spots;
- play 1-2 studies/capriccios from memory;
- play two contrasting musical pieces (one slow and one fast/technical) showing all new bow and fingering technique he/she studied during this semester.

2. Skills:
By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to:

-play a solo performance 35 minutes length which should include 1-2 capriccios on different kinds of technique, one character piece from memory, all/selected movements of sonata/concerto for violoncello.
