| DESCRIPTION | Pre-requisites: A basic knowledge of Math at 'O' Level standard. A good understanding of Research Methods Objectives: This course aims to provide students with a through understanding of the basic statistical concepts in psychological research through the use of SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). Furthermore, it provides students with a knowledge of reading printed statistics and to make intelligent and correct inferences from the results. Students will: - be able to gain a sound knowledge of the basic tenets of quantitative research; - be able to understand basis concepts in descriptive and inferential statistics (parametric and non-parametric); - be able to organize, handle and manipulate data intelligently; - be able to employ statistical knowledge through use of SPSS.
