| DESCRIPTION | This study-unit is an introductory course and does not in any way equip students with the necessary tools to carry out any psychological testing/assessment without the direct supervision of a psychologist. During this study-unit, the students will: - understand the major statistical concepts needed to create a test and evaluate statistical norms - be introduced to the concepts necessary for the evaluation of psychological assessments - understand different uses of psychological assessments - become familiar with the tests commonly used, their critical evaluation, validity and reliability, administration and interpretation - be introduced to a critical analysis of psychological testing, and presented with alternative assessment procedures - be introduced to the writing of psychological profiles - be able to interview parents, teachers and others - be able to administer and score, under supervision, the Vineland Adaptive Behaviour Scales - be in a position to present and briefly analyze a child’s and adult’s profile Tentative Study-unit Outline: - Introduction/Course description/Tutorials - Psychological assessment: What is a test? - Norms and basic statistics for testing - Correlation and regression - Reliability and validity - Evaluation Psychological tests - Phases in clinical assessment - The assessment interview - Major tests used     - with children in the educational and clinical field     - with adults in the clinical field     - with adults in the organizational field - The Psychological report.
