DESCRIPTION Students will be expected to spend 40 hours in an agency or department where social analysis and/or social planning is implemented.

The student will be assessed on the basis of this experience and in consultation with members of the Agency where the placement takes place.

Study-unit Aims:

To ensure that students of Sociology acquire the skill to apply sociological perspectives to life in a real-life context.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge & Understanding:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to discuss how sociology is applied to real life.

2. Skills:

By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to analyse what factors need to be focused on in analyzing aspects of social life.
