| DESCRIPTION | El objetivo de esta asignatura es reforzar la competencia comunicativa de los estudiantes mediante una seleccion de textos reales de tematica diversa y/o peliculas. Ademas se aprovechara el nivel adquirido por los estudiantes para ampliar su vocabulario con diversas expresiones idiomaticas muy frecuentes en todos los registros del espanol. The aim of this study-unit is to enhance students' communicative competence through a selection of authentic texts on different themes and / or movies. Building on the level already acquired by students the course will expand their vocabulary with common idioms in all registers of Spanish. Study-unit Aims: Consolidar y ampliar los conocimientos adquiridos previamente por los estudiantes en las asignaturas Aspects of Spanish Language & Grammar 1-5 y solucionar lagunas y carencias. Consolidate and expand the knowledge previously acquired by students in Aspects of Spanish Language & Grammar 1-5 and attend to lacunae and shortcomings. Learning Outcomes: 1. Knowledge & Understanding: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - comprender textos y peliculas destinados a nativos de espanol; - entender el significado de una seleccion de expresiones idiomaticas frecuentes en el espanol. - Understand texts and films aimed at native Spanish speakers; - Understand the meaning of a selection of common idiomatic expressions in Spanish. 2. Skills: By the end of the study-unit the student will be able to: - ejercitar las cuatro destrezas comunicativas (expresion y comprension oral y escrita); - usar en el contexto adecuado las expresiones idiomaticas correspondientes que se han tratado en esta asignatura. - Practice the four communication skills; - Use in a proper context the idiomatic expressions that have been treated in this unit.
