| DESCRIPTION | This course of study focuses on the process of evaluation and explores different models of evaluation which may be used in diverse educational settings. The main objective of this course is to equip students with the necessary tools to plan and implement an evaluation. Course Outline: The Evaluation Process The course will commence with an understanding of the basic steps of an evaluation process: Planning and Negotiating an Evaluation Plan Collecting and Analysing Evidence to Produce Findings Disseminating Information to Identified Audiences Decisions and processes at each of these steps will be considered. Forms of Evaluation: The course will proceed with a discussion of the following concepts: Process and Outcome Evaluation; Formative and Summative Evaluation With the groundwork in place, the course will then focus on the tenants and methodologies of the following forms of evaluation. Each will be studied with specific examples: Proactive Evaluation Clarificative Evaluation Interactive Evaluation Monitoring Evaluation Impact Evaluation. The course may proceed with the students making proposal/s for particular evaluations and/or they may have the opportunity to carry out an evaluation themselves.
