| DESCRIPTION | The Therapy and Wellness Campaign is a unique unit organised annually by Betapsi, the University of Malta’s Psychology Students’ Association. This program is designed to raise mental health awareness and promote psychological and emotional growth among university students. Building on four years of successful engagement, this campaign provides students with an educational experience centred on diverse therapeutic approaches and wellness practices that contribute positively to mental health. The unit comprises a series of workshops led by licensed and qualified professionals. These sessions introduce participants to a range of therapies, such as Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Drama Therapy, and Mindfulness. In addition to the core therapy-focused sessions, the campaign also integrates a “wellness” component, offering fitness-based classes like yoga, zumba, and other physical activities, as well as self-discovery classes such as journaling and meditation. These wellness sessions aim to present students with practical, alternative methods of supporting their mental and emotional health, emphasising the mind-body connection. Learning Objectives: - To educate students on various therapeutic approaches and mental health strategies. - To enhance students' understanding of the application of therapy to improve well-being. - To introduce students to wellness practices that can complement traditional therapeutic methods. Unit Material: A yearly group is formed to give out further information regarding the sessions, as these may vary from one year to another, as well as any more information necessary. For any questions kindly contact:educationalofficer.betapsi@gmail.com Assessment: Participants will receive Degree Plus recognition upon completing the required attendance and actively engaging in the program’s activities. A certificate of participation will be awarded to students who fulfil these requirements. Enrolment: This unit is open to all University of Malta students with an interest in psychology and mental health. Prior experience or background in psychology is not required. |
