| DESCRIPTION | Learn the art of modern calligraphy from the ground up! In this Unit, you will begin with the fundamental strokes and gradually build your skills to create beautiful writing. You will explore various styles and embellishment techniques, allowing you to add a personal touch to your work. Learning Outcomes: - Develop a strong foundation in modern calligraphy, starting with the basic strokes. - Personalise your lettering to reflect your unique style. - Discover the ideal calligraphy tools that suit your preferences. - Notes will be provided by the tutor. - The students need to bring the following supplies; foolscap paper, 6B pencil, ruler, rubber, sharpener and calligraphy tool of choice: [ink and dip pen with flexible nib] or [brush pen]. (Calligraphy tool options will be introduced in the first lecture and used from the second, so that students are able to choose the right tool to invest in.) |
