COURSE OVERVIEW
The Preparatory Course is a one-year day course focusing on agricultural Biology and Chemistry. The students are also introduced to topics in rural sciences. During this year, students are considered as probationary.
 
LEARNING OUTCOMES Students will be specifically prepared to follow the Diploma Course. They will be able to understand the science behind the rural activities, to present a short report and to prepare and deliver a presentation on an agricultural topic.
 
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AND ACCESS TO FURTHER STUDY At this point the students are not yet prepared to manage a rural situation or follow further studies. The Preparatory Course is specifically designed to students who intend to follow the Diploma Course.
 
ADMISSION AND
PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS
The Course shall be open to applicants in possession of:

(a) six passes at grade 5 or better at Secondary Education Certificate Level, including Maltese, English Language, Mathematics and a science subject or

(b) a diploma obtained from the College of Agriculture of the Department of Education with a grade of merit or better, or a similar qualification which, in the opinion of the Board, is equivalent to this qualification.

The admission requirements are applicable for courses commencing in October 2018.
