Department of Electronic Systems Engineering Community home page Statistics

Electronic Systems Engineering focuses on the principles of digital and analogue electronics, providing the skills required to design, simulate, implement and evaluate electronic circuits in the light of the rapidly expanding IT-based economy. Whilst addressing subject areas in traditional electronics, the course has been specifically tailored to industrial requirements by focusing on bridging the link between physical and computer-based systems. Consequently, the course includes modules on sensors, instrumentation and measurement, digital processors and interfacing, together with a strong emphasis on programming. Students are also given the opportunity to pursue modules in one of the four thematic areas, namely: advanced digital systems design, integrated-circuit design, high-frequency circuit design and power circuit design.
