Abstract: The Council of the Royal University of Malta have approved the following amendment to the M.Sc. Regulations and the Regulations and Bye-Laws for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) as in the attached appendix.
Amendment to the M.Sc. Regulations
The second sentence of para. 2 of Reg. 2 has been amended to read as follows: “Such candidates shall apply to the Faculty Board for registration as soon as possible but not later than the end of September”.

The Royal University of Malta Regulations and Bye-Laws for the Ph.D. Degree
1. The degree of Doctor of Philosophy may be conferred upon a candidate who submits an original and distinct contribution to knowledge in one of the disciplines studied at the Royal University of Malta and which, in the opinion of the examining board, is worthy of publication.
2. The degree will be awarded on the result of the examination of a thesis containing this original contribution and an oral examination on the field of research of the candidate. [Excerpt]
