The Department of Media, Communications and Technology Law of the Faculty of Laws was established in 2009 within the Faculty. It is headed by Professor Kevin Aquilina, Dean of the Faculty. It provides lecturing and research in the areas of Broadcasting Law, Press Law, European Media Law, Communications Law, Gaming Law, Technology Law, Biolaw, Research Methods and Legal Writing Skills. It also hosts a Medicine and the Law Programme. The Department offers the following study-units: Bioethics and the Law, Press Law, Broadcasting Law, European Media Law, Gaming Law, Communications Law, Introduction to Law, Legal Research and Writing. The Department of Media, Communications and Technology Law encourages students to follow these two law courses offered by the Faculty of Media and Knowledge Sciences at the University of Malta namely Computer Crime and Introduction to ICT Law.
