| Abstract: | Immanuel Mifsud talks with Sergio Grech about his autobiography. Despite being a short book, Fl-Isem tal-Missier (u tal-Iben) is a rollercoaster of emotions, moods, styles and personae. Drawing on a war diary which the author's father (1920-2007) started writing in December 1939, marking his joining the British Army, Mifsud writes a touching account of his 'delicate' relationship with his father, but also, on the latter's demise, an account of the changes his life went through when his own son was born. Fl-Isem tal-Missier (u tal-Iben) was awarded the European Prize for Literature 2011. |
