| Abstract: | This research presented a qualitative research to investigate whether Maltese Primary teachers are sensitive to Socio- Emotional Behavioural difficulties in their children and moreover how they relate and show care towards these students. Semi-structured interviews were used to try to gather a more in-depth understanding of if and how Maltese teacher are meeting the needs of their students through listening and attending to their needs. This researchers viewed this through verbal and non-verbal means. Moreover, the aim of this study was to help generate ideas on how can Maltese teachers better attend and intervene adequately to socio-emotional difficulties in their students. Besides helping the researcher, the knowledge helped as a student teacher to develop better personal competencies, it intended to offer other teachers, who are at present struggling in helping students who exhibit SEBD, operative knowledge on how to effectively generate hope in the life of their students. |
